This number has called me three times in the past few weeks, always around 7 in the evening. Each time, they just stayed silent and never said a word.

Got a ring from this number the other day. The background was really noisy and a woman with a strong accent said she was from Telstra. She told me my computer was secretly downloading terrible malware and viruses. Thing is, I’m not a Telstra customer for either phone or internet. She kept pushing me to switch on my computer so she could fix the problem remotely. Thinking it was a scam, I acted like I knew nothing about computers and said I was using a really old Mac OS 7.5.3. It took her over 45 minutes to figure out I wasn’t actually at a computer. I told her my Mac wouldn’t connect to the web while we spoke, but she wouldn’t ring my mobile to let me dial in. Getting annoyed but trying to stay polite, I grew increasingly frustrated. Eventually, she just hung up. Hopefully, in that time, I stopped her from duping someone else.
