I've been receiving calls from this number for the third time in a fortnight, all around the same hour-about 7 in the evening. Oddly enough, not once have they actually said anything to me.

I got a call from this number today. The background was quite noisy. A woman with a strong accent claimed she was from Telstra. She told me that my computer was secretly downloading malware and all sorts of nasty viruses. The thing is, I don't even use Telstra for my phone or internet! She kept insisting I switch on my computer so she could fix it remotely. Realising it must be a scam, I decided to have a bit of fun and pretended to be hopeless with technology, saying I was using a Mac OS 7.5.3. It took her over 45 minutes to catch on that I was nowhere near a computer! My Mac couldn't connect to the internet while she was chatting away. She wouldn’t call my mobile so I could log in online. I got quite flustered, to put it mildly, and my politeness was really being tested! Eventually, she just hung up on me. Hopefully, I managed to waste her time and prevent someone else from falling for this nonsense while I kept her occupied for all those minutes!
