I never pick up calls from numbers I don’t recognise. If it’s important, they usually drop a voicemail. After seeing the comments here, I reported the number as spam and blocked it straight away. These calls never leave messages anyway.

Got a call from this number, a woman with a pretty stern tone claiming to be from Save the Children. She started telling me about kids suffering in Bangladesh and how heartbroken she was since she’s got kids herself. Then she asked for my credit card info to set up a monthly donation, which I didn’t feel comfortable with. I told her I’d just give my donation directly to Save the Children. She went on about how the money might just go to a general fund that only partially helps Bangladesh, and kept pushing for my card details. She even said I wouldn’t need to give my CVC because the charity's been around for 70 years. Still, I held my ground and didn’t share any info.

They rang me three times all in one day. The first time I spoke to them, I clearly asked them to stop calling and to add me to their "DO NOT DISTURB" list, but despite that, they just won’t stop ringing every day.

On 4th January 2017, I got like 5 calls from this number 099678615. A woman answered, telling me about some work they’ve done for kids in Kaikoura, then asked for donations. She sounded really old, like she was about to drop dead or something. Then later a man called and I told him off straightaway. Still, they kept ringing me non-stop which really got on my nerves. Honestly, just block these guys, they try to sound all kind and elderly but it’s just a front. Proper annoying! Haha.

When this number first rang, they claimed to be from Save the Children. After that, I started getting calls every day where I’d just hear laughing followed by the line going dead, or sometimes just heavy breathing. Mostly though, it was complete silence. Even after a month, the calls kept coming. I tried calling the number back and got a recorded message for Save the Children, but the actual Save the Children charity is based in Wellington and uses an 0800 number. Whoever’s doing this is honestly quite messed up. I regret leaving a couple of angry voice messages telling them to quit with the prank calls. The calls just kept coming, plus calls from a similar number too. I spoke to my ISP and they said they could block the number as long as I keep a log of the dates and times of the calls.
