After reading the comments below, I decided to block and report it as spam. I have a practice of not answering calls from unknown numbers. My rationale is that if the caller is genuine, they will leave a message. However, this particular type of caller never bothers to do so.

I received an unexpected phone call today from someone who insisted on obtaining my personal details. Although they had some of my information, they adamantly chose not to disclose their identity or the reason for the call. To my surprise, they abruptly ended the conversation by hanging up.

I received a call from a number claiming to be from the Save the Children Fund. A woman with a confident voice shared a story about the unfortunate experiences of abused children in Bangladesh. She expressed her remorse, mentioning that she also has children of her own. Subsequently, she requested my credit card information for a monthly donation. However, I declined to provide it and informed her that I would rather donate directly to the Save The Children Fund. The caller insisted that if I donated directly, the funds would go into a general account, with only a small portion benefiting Bangladesh. She continued to push for my credit card details, informing me that she didn't even require the CVC number as the organization has been operating for 70 years. Despite her persistence, I stood firm and chose not to share my information.

I received three phone calls on the same day. The first time I spoke to them, I explicitly requested that they not call me again and asked to be added to their "DO NOT DISTURB" list. However, despite my request, they continue to call me every day.

On the 4th of January 2017, I received a total of five phone calls from the number 099678615. In those calls, a lady spoke to me and shared details about their work for children in Kaikoura. Towards the end of the conversation, she requested a donation. She appeared to be an elderly lady who sounded quite frail. Shortly after, I received another call from a man who I reprimanded for their persistence. However, despite my objections, they continued to call me, which became rather irritating. I would advise against answering any calls from this number as they employ deceptive tactics by pretending to be elderly individuals. Quite amusing, really!

Initially, we received a call from someone claiming to be from save the children. However, after that, we started experiencing daily calls that consisted of either laughter followed by a hang-up, or just the sound of breathing. Mostly, though, there was eerie silence. Even after a month had passed, we were still receiving these calls. Out of frustration, I decided to call the number back and was greeted with a recorded message for save the children. However, the legitimate save the children organization is based in Wellington and has an 0800 number. It is clear that whoever is behind these calls is a disturbed individual. Regrettably, I left two angry voice messages instructing them to cease their prank calls, but instead, we received more calls and even another similar number. I contacted my internet service provider (ISP), who informed me that they can block a number if I provide them with the dates and times of these calls.
