09829323380 Summary (Read all comments)
Phone number ☎️ 09829323380 👆 is reported as linked to suspicious calls mainly in the Exeter and Devon area, with many users saying their landlines - often only used for internet - were hacked or misused for expensive premium rate numbers. Customers express frustration, especially with BT, claiming poor support, calls being cut off when seeking refunds, and unresolved security issues that seem to stem from exchange-level hacks rather than personal phones. Some have managed to get refunds from Onetel and TalkTalk quickly, but others feel stuck waiting for billing cycles and are turning to consumer forums and local media for help. There's also worries about elderly neighbours not understanding or accessing the issue online, and reports suggest this might be a wider scam targeting several households.

10 yearsI noticed this number popping up on our BT bill from 27th June 2010. It lasted a whole 6 minutes and set us back over £9 at 12:25 in the morning. When I reached out to BT, they mentioned they can't do anything until we actually get billed for it, insisting that somebody must have made that call from our phone and that their lines are completely secure. It seems utterly improbable that anyone around here dialled that number! Interestingly, our neighbour also had a call to this same number on the very same day. Both of our phones are wired, not cordless, and we both rely on the standard BT 1571 answering service. Quite baffling, really!BT10 yearsI reside in Devon and, to be honest, our landline barely sees any action! It's basically just a necessity for us to stay connected to the internet. Quite a few of us are starting to think it would be fair to get a refund for this service, especially if a significant number of residents come together to voice their concerns-clearly, those who don’t rely on it shouldn’t have to bear the costs!Devon10 yearsI had a rather positive experience with Onetel/TalkTalk; they promptly refunded my money without any fuss! Interestingly, we also asked them to enable Premium Rate blocking, only to discover we already had it in place. Yet, those calls keep coming through despite the supposed blocking! This raises concerns about a possible hack within the exchange rather than an issue with our handset. I’m planning to share my experience over on the Consumer Action Group forums as well.OnetelTalkTalkConsumer Action Group10 yearsI had quite a positive experience with Onetel through TalkTalk; they sorted my finances almost instantly! However, in the midst of it all, we asked them to secure the Premium Rate Line, only to find out it was already done. Despite this supposed blockage, the calls kept coming through, which suggests there may be some sort of loophole in the exchange, although thankfully, it doesn’t affect our mobile! We’re also planning to share our experience on consumer action group platforms.OnetelTalkTalk10 yearsI'm currently situated in Honiton. Despite countless calls to BT, I haven't made any progress. The representatives seem totally unhelpful, merely repeating that we initiated the call, or the line simply disconnects. Now, it looks like we shall try to speak with the person mentioned by Diddydave.HonitonBTDiddydave10 yearsWe've submitted the second report mentioned earlier. We're situated in Exeter, specifically in the Kings Heath Estate, close to Digby and Tesco. Since we’re billed through Onetel, we're unsure if BT will be of any assistance to us.ExeterKings Heath EstateDigbyTescoOnetelBT11 yearsWe had a chat with a journalist from the Exeter Express & Echo, and they've informed us that the individuals in question intend to publish the article either tomorrow or Saturday.Exeter Express & Echo11 yearsWe had a chat with a reporter from the Exeter Express & Echo, and they mentioned that the individuals involved are gearing up to publish the story either tomorrow or on Saturday.Exeter Express & Echo11 yearsI recently reached out to BT regarding a similar predicament involving a compromised line in the Haven Bank area of Exeter. They ended up blocking the premium number; however, I found myself on hold for ages until the line finally cut out right after I asked about getting a refund! Honestly, well done, BT. Marvellous service you've provided. I can't fathom why I even bother with this lot! What a bunch of muppets!BTHaven BankExeter11 yearsWe've joined the Scream Forum, but I reckon our neighbours won't be following suit. After all, they're both elderly folks and, to be honest, they don’t even own a computer!Scream Forum12 yearsWe just received a call from this telephone number.12 yearsI rang up BT regarding the same problem - my line's been compromised in the Exeter area around Haven Bank. They ended up blocking the premium number for me, but then I was left hanging on hold until the call just cut off the moment I asked for a refund! Well done, BT, what a delightful experience. I mean, honestly, what's the point?! Absolute buffoons!BTExeterHaven Bank12 yearsJust a quick note: we attempted to notify BT about our issue using the reference number provided by DiddyDave. They did manage to confirm the reference but then promptly cut the call. We've encountered this kind of response from BT in the past as well!BTDiddyDave12 yearsWe're situated in Devon, and to be honest, our landline hardly gets a look-in. It's really just a necessity for our internet connection more than anything else. I'm wondering though, is there any hope of us getting a refund for this? If enough locals raise their concerns, surely these companies won't be able to keep charging us!DevonSubmit Your Own Report (0982 932 3380)
