I got a couple of voice messages from them, so I called them back since I’m expecting to get in touch with some PPI folks. We’re both pensioners and a bit anxious about the whole thing.

On the 23rd of August 2019, I got a call at 2:26 from someone saying I should call them back about a cheque worth £871.00. Seriously, why can't they just post it instead of messing about and treating folks like mugs?

Got a voicemail from some bloke claiming to be from an unnamed company saying their accounts team had got a cheque from me for £899.00. He wanted me to ring their accounts manager back on that number right away. Felt really fishy since I never sent any cheque for that amount. No way am I calling them back - definitely sounds like a scam to me.
