I just rung for a couple of seconds and ended up getting charged £4, total rip-off!

avoid calling this number at all costs!!! like another person said here, i ended up on the phone for like 20 minutes twice and ended up with a £50 bill, all because i was trying to sort out their mistake. such a waste of time and money!

Avoid calling British Gas from your mobile, it’s a total rip off. They charge 50p a minute just for submitting meter readings, and they keep you waiting on hold for ages so you end up spending over £11.50. This gets added straight to your phone bill even if you have free minutes, since it’s classed as a premium number. Honestly, it feels so dodgy and I reckon it shouldn’t be allowed. Best steer well clear!
