I noticed a rather alarming spike in my phone bill, which shot up by a hefty £28.37. Upon querying my internet service provider about this unexpected increase, I was informed it stemmed from a single phone call to the number 09041118706, ringing up an eye-watering £3.60 per minute for a duration of 7.39 minutes on 31st October 2022. Apparently, it’s a premium-rate service number. Truth be told, I wouldn't dream of making such a call, and it's impossible that anyone but myself could have dialled out from my home. It feels quite suspect, and I suspect it may well have been a spam or potentially dubious number that reached out to me, leaving me to foot the bill. So, I promptly got in touch with PlusNet, my provider, and after a rather lengthy discussion with a technical representative, they kindly rectified my bill by refunding that call charge. In addition, they've now implemented a call barring service on my line to block any future high-rate numbers. Cheers, Lenny
