Can someone tell me who is behind these calls? This number showed up on my bill but I haven’t made any outgoing calls, only got some incoming ones lately and even got a new phone handset. Yet, I got charged £43.50. Why am I supposed to pay for what looks like a scam call? Also, the Sky customer service was really rude and didn’t help at all. What’s my next step here?

Do not ring this number! My dad tried it out and ended up with a bill of nearly £40. He didn’t share any details, just hung up straight away. Avoid it!

This number was called by my mum and she ended up being hit with a £421 fee. It's definitely a scam, so avoid ringing it!

Just got my phone bill and saw a charge of £8.28 plus VAT from this number. I thought I was ringing the TV licensing folks. Good thing I didn't wait on the line for too long!

I spotted a charge on my monthly Plusnet bill for a call that lasted nearly four minutes, made from this number (09037271124) about four days ago. They billed me £14.61 for it. After checking, Plusnet confirmed the call did come from my phone and was connected to that number. However, neither me nor my wife can remember dialling such a strange number at all. Plusnet suggested it could be a crossed line issue and offered to send an engineer to investigate if it happens again.

Just saw a charge of £14.61 for nearly 4 minutes on my bill. Not sure who it was but guessing it has something to do with a TV licence application. Quite pricey for a call I didn’t really expect!

my mum, who's quite old, thought this was the tv licence number. she spent like 22 minutes on the line and it ended up costing her £98.14! ridiculous.
