Actually, we never got a call from this number. My other half dialled it thinking it was the official HMRC income tax line. He found this number and another one (09040128607) while googling. When he rang this number, he was stuck on hold for about 20 minutes, convinced it was HMRC, then the call just dropped. He tried the second number too, but was left waiting for 6 minutes before giving up. The whole mess ended up costing us £103! Apparently, these numbers popped up when he searched "how to change my tax code" on Google. I’m honestly beyond annoyed about this.
