On the 3rd of August, this number called me but I didn’t pick up and I also didn’t call back. Later I saw a £7 charge on my bill for a call under 2 minutes. I never answered or returned the call and nobody else uses my phone. Be careful and definitely block this number!

When I spoke to the phone company, they said they can’t block these numbers so we won’t get charged again. And, get this, since I’m on the account I’ve gotta pay for all the calls no matter what. I don't understand why loads of people even bother ringing those numbers again. I was just going over my dad's phone bill to figure out why it shot up this month. I've warned him over and over not to use 1471. That's what the answering machine is for, really - if it’s someone you actually know, they’ll either call you back or leave you a message.
