fairly straightforward but it’s sms being read out loud through a relay service. when the number calls, make sure you write down the code you get from the automated female voice. press 1 if you want to listen to your message, or just hang up if you don’t. won’t work if you leave it to go to voicemail cause the message cuts off. if you keep ignoring the call, expect about 15-16 rings over a day, then BT clears the message and the calls stop altogether.

I just ignored the call and didn’t pick up.

We received a call from this number claiming to be the BT Text Messaging Service for a certain Mrs J Smith. The problem is, we’re definitely not her! Has anyone got a clue about what this might be and how one might stop these calls? It’s rather puzzling as this same thing happened to us last month as well.
