This number rang my phone around 10 this morning but I didn’t pick up. I ended up reporting it to my carrier.

Got a call on my mobile from this number. When I picked up, I heard a robotic voice say I was first in line, but then the same voice quickly corrected itself, saying I actually had a long wait and asked if I knew how long I'd been waiting. Then, just like that, the call ended. I was a bit confused at first and almost called back to find out who it was, but decided to look it up here instead. Seems these phone scams are getting smarter and are trying to trick us by guessing how we'll react.

I picked up this call and got some automated message saying “your call matters to us, you’re caller number 1 in line.” Then it stopped for a sec and went on to say “actually you’re not number 1, you’re way down the waiting list.” Then it just cut off. Best not to pick up or dial this number back. I reckon they might be charging just for answering.

I gave TPS a go, but apparently they don’t cover ‘silent calls’. They just pointed me towards Ofcom’s website. It’s helpful enough but basically says they won’t step in unless the silent calls keep happening regularly.

This number rang me early, around 6:15 in the morning. Proper annoyance and just a right pain. Honestly, they should stick their own number in a public phone or something and see how it feels getting loads of annoying calls themselves.

So, this morning on the 9th of March at about 6.34am, we got a call from 08726680237 on our home phone. By the time I managed to get to it, the call had ended, which was pretty annoying. I did a 1471 check but didn’t bother calling back - probably for the best, to be honest. After seeing what others have said, I might look into TPS registration, although I’m pretty sure we sorted that out ages ago.
