It seems we may have encountered one of those bothersome "one call and waiting for you to return the favour" premium rate numbers. As soon as I dialled back, an automated voice greeted me, inviting me to partake in some sort of "game." The initial question was something along the lines of "Which number are we thinking of? Just press a digit on your keypad…" Quite frustrating, to say the least. We were actually expecting a call from customer support for our mobile provider, so I returned the call out of curiosity, only to discover it was not them. Is there no one who could push for legislation against such scams that would actually be effective?

We reckon this was yet another of those pesky “call and hang up, hoping you'll call back” premium rate numbers. As soon as we dialled them back, we were greeted by a recorded voice inviting us to partake in “a game”. The first question posed was “What number are we thinking of? Just press a digit on your keypad.” Absolutely infuriating! We were anticipating a call from our mobile provider, so we thought it prudent to return the call only to discover it was anything but them. Is there truly no one who can enforce effective legislation against such scams?

The moment I called back, I was met with a robotic message enticing me to join some sort of "game." It began with, "Guess the number we're thinking of; just tap a digit on your keypad." Utterly frustrating! We were actually hoping for a call from our mobile provider for some essential support, yet it turned out to be anything but. Is there really no one who can step in and create legislation to combat these relentless scams?
