I must admit, this was certainly a rather unusual approach for the correspondence via email and fax. However, the poor grammar and the mention of a premium rate number were clear indicators of something amiss. Best to keep your distance from this one!

Received a rather curious fax earlier today, dated 10/02, from a premium line, I dare say. One might assume it's some sort of promotional material, wouldn’t you agree? - Ros

Received the same fax today. I'm based in Bournemouth, so it’s definitely a scam intended to lure you into calling an outrageously priced premium number.

On the 5th of February 2011, I received a fax from Mr. Mike Woodman inquiring about the same details for a wedding scheduled for the 2nd of July. Just to note, I’m based down in Cornwall.

I manage a quaint little hotel in Scotland, and today I received a fax from someone claiming to be Mike Woodman, inquiring about hosting a wedding this coming July. They mentioned they’d be checking in on the second and leaving on the fifteenth, and needed an additional ten rooms. I must say, this whole request struck me as rather dubious. I appreciate your help in confirming that this seems to be a hoax. The phone number provided was 0871 9182050, and the fax number was 08715260297. Cheers!

Received a call from this number - the chat was superb! Regrettably, we weren't in a position to assist him, as it appears to be one of those 0871 numbers. When you dial in, you're stuck in a queue while others are ringing in too, and if you hang up, well, that's on you. Quite the nuisance, really!

As a fellow financial adviser based in Edinburgh, I can’t help but suspect that this was a bit of a scam. It wouldn’t surprise me if it ends up costing you 30 pence or more each time you dial that number. Best to stay clear, I reckon!

@Dave. Oh, aren’t you a delightful one! It’s obvious this is nothing but a scam, you nincompoop. It’s plainly just a little scheme to line the pockets of some slippery character like yourself, isn’t it? Given your rather tempestuous nature, I’d wager this message has your fingerprints all over it. Go on, take me to court!

As a financial advisor, I've received the same sort of fax. It urged me to call, stating that she was keen to invest some cash. Clearly, they're just trying to gather information using that 0871 number. I've since informed the local police about this situation.

I tried to get in touch with someone but was met with a rather confusing missed call from a number stating 'alarm bell'. After doing a bit of digging, I came across this site and it was quite helpful. Thanks a bunch! Cheers, Ros.

Greetings! I'm operating a venue up in Scotland and recently received a rather dubious fax. It feels like a potential scam and I reckon calling that number would end up being quite expensive. We believe it’s better to steer clear of it! Cheers!

I've recently received a fax from a certain Mike Woodman, advising me to reach out to a premium rate number or send a fax back. As a hotel located in Daventry, I can’t stress enough how important it is to be cautious-this is nothing but a scam! Stay vigilant, everyone!

Today, I received a fax at my hotel in Bournemouth that immediately struck me as dodgy. The number they provided kept putting me on hold - definitely sounds like a premium rate scam to me. After doing a bit of digging, I discovered numerous others had also got faxes featuring the name Mike Woodman. If you're ever faced with a similar fax, it's best to just disregard it entirely.

Once more, I found myself at a quaint establishment nestled in the Wye Valley, back on the 9th of February, 2011. I received a fax from a chap named Mike Woodman regarding a wedding in July! The moment I spotted the number, I couldn’t shake off the feeling that it was all a bit dubious. Cheers, Ros.

I must say, I’m rather baffled by this whole affair! It’s quite clear that the situation was absolutely dodgy. Someone was fishing around for hotel quotes for their wedding, only for it to turn out to be a right con. Honestly, the nonsense we have to deal with these days! And don't get me started on the 0871 number - the charges are astronomical, ranging from six to ten pence a minute, which is practically the same as calling a standard rate line. It really is astounding how some people carry on. Perhaps you could consider revealing your details so that we could look into a defamation claim against you!

I recently received a fax from someone named "Michael Woodman," who was seeking financial advice. The details he provided were incredibly sketchy, so I decided to look up the number online and ended up here! We're quite keen to find out if Ofcom has the capability to block this number, as it seems to be a blatant scam.

We received a call earlier today regarding a wedding, set to leave on the 15th of July, with the initial date being the 1st of July. I’m currently at a hotel in Ipswich! What on earth is happening?

I was staying at a hotel in South London and received the same fax as well. I’m really pleased we took the initiative to look up the phone number, especially since we didn’t have any other details to guide us. Hopefully, other hotels that received the exact same fax will also catch on to this.

Earlier this afternoon, we received a fax that was exactly the same. I'm also running a small hotel up in Scotland, and the information in that fax was so unclear that we suspect it might be a scam! We've decided not to bother responding. Cheers!
