I've been inundated with calls from this number since it was mentioned in the Friday ads. My SIM card is a pay-as-you-go, and it’s solely designated for inquiries related to our listed item. I've never used this number for any calls before, nor have I publicised it anywhere. It seems these individuals are making a living by scouring 'for sale' platforms, ringing once from a premium line in the hopes that you will expend excessive effort trying to trace them. It's incredibly vexing, especially when you’re on edge waiting for a genuine call!

I keep receiving calls around 9 or 10 in the morning. They only last about two minutes before the caller hangs up. It’s quite likely this is some sort of scammer.

This number has been ringing us at least daily, much like others have mentioned here. They only let it ring once before hanging up. We listed an item in Friday Ads, and now there's a rather dodgy individual emailing us, expressing keen interest in buying it. They've proposed sending a cheque for over £2,000, which is quite amusing since we’re only selling it for £50. They want us to send back the surplus amount! It strikes me as nothing short of a scam, so I'm steering clear of this whole situation like it's the plague!

Much like Random X, we also put an advertisement in the Friday Ad, so that could be a potential connection. We received a call around half-past one in the afternoon, roughly, and it all started about three weeks back. Our ad made its debut in the publication just last week, though it originally got printed four weeks ago.

I've been inundated with an array of peculiar calls, averaging about three per day lately. The most recent culprit was 08718239391, and the others have been eerily similar. We did attempt to return a call, but all we were met with was a recorded message. It truly feels like some sort of elaborate scam. Interestingly, this only happens on one particular O2 mobile, not on our landline, hub phone, or even our other mobiles. This certain number is the one we used to promote something we’re selling in a local publication. Quite curious, isn’t it?

We recently had a word with BT, and they investigated the number for us. It turns out it’s a type of automated calling system, yet the chap we spoke to was unable to clarify the caller's identity or purpose. It’s highly likely that if anyone attempts to return the call, they’ll face a sky-high charge. It’s incredibly frustrating and intrusive, and the only way to prevent these calls is by forking out a weekly fee (at least that’s what BT say). Since these calls buzz our mobile phones, I’m uncertain whether O2 employs a similar system.
