The moment you try to return the call, all you get is a bland message stating you're in a queue, without any identification. It’s rather interesting to discover that simply mentioning you’ve taken note of their number and politely requesting they cease calling has quite the effect. If they persist, I’m more than ready to inform OFTEL and the Trading Standards about their antics. Although I haven’t had the chance to engage with this particular number yet, I can confidently say that this approach has proven effective with various businesses that have tried to persuade me to upgrade my services.

Absolutely bonkers, isn't it? So we received a call from these folks who were pestering us about our dad-he’s the one who holds the contract. The moment we switched to a new phone, they started with their nonsense, and we ended up sending them all the necessary details to sort out getting a new device. But lo and behold, nothing ever arrived! Utterly ridiculous, I tell you. What a right shambles!

I’ve just had a call from this number, and it was rather peculiar. For a brief spell, there was quite a racket in the background, reminiscent of a call centre, before they abruptly hung up on me. I tried returning the call using our office phone, but it came up as “not authorised” since it’s an 08717 number. This is precisely why I decided to look it up. Absolutely, we’ve encountered the same situation, Rob. It’s rather suspicious that another company is reaching out to us, which makes me suspect that T-Mobile might be dishing out our information as soon as our contracts get updated. I’m counting down the days until the TPS waiting period is over; I look forward to lodging a formal complaint against these blokes!

Truth be told, we’ve not answered their calls because we were forewarned by a friend about this scam. We’d love to share that other number, but in a bit of a blunder, we’ve lost it on our device. Earlier today, we received a rather suspicious call from individuals requesting our card information. I can't shake the feeling that they could be connected to T-Mobile since our contract is nearing its end. I decided to ring up T-Mobile to have that number blocked, but to my surprise, they said they couldn’t intervene. They claimed it's not against the law for companies to obtain personal details from folks like us. Quite unsettling, I'd say!

It’s reasonable to presume that one might be a part of the other’s operations.

We’ve had our fair share of calls from these folks as well. From what I’ve gathered from the remarks on this site, it looks like many of them use contracts with EE or T-Mobile, which could explain the random calls. However, I’m on a pay-as-you-go plan with Orange!
