10 yearsI received a phone call earlier today claiming that I had taken out a Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) on a loan or mortgage with HSBC way back in 1988, which I absolutely have not. The callers were adamant that they could help me reclaim a substantial sum of money - potentially thousands! They insisted that I needed to pay a deposit upfront, which I outright refused. When I asked them to provide the details in writing, they suddenly claimed they couldn't do that because the deadline for the claim would expire before I received the information! It’s curious how they could offer a claim from 1988 but then rushed me when I requested further details.
