Got a voicemail from 03330705807 telling me to urgently ring 08716770070 and mention some 8 digit ref number. The whole thing sounded pretty dodgy and unprofessional, so I just ignored it.

They keep ringing and leaving messages claiming they urgently need to speak to my husband and asking us to call 0871 677 0070. After checking the number online, it looks dodgy and definitely a scam. We don’t owe anyone money, so there’s no legit reason for these calls. We’re not going to be phoning them back.

For the past few days, I've been getting around 5 texts daily from a sender called No-Reply telling me to get in touch with 08716770070. Apparently, I owe money but I don’t! They mention they have my car info and threaten to take my car away - which is rubbish, I don’t even own one! Also, they say they’ll take legal action with a CCJ - as if! I’ve just been deleting and ignoring these messages since you can’t block the sender because it shows up as a name, not a number.

Got this annoying text from someone saying 'Mr Billy Johnston, please contact us on 0871 677 0070 with case ID (a number) to avoid further Enforcement Agent visits and extra charges, or pay now at [#]bristosutor[###]/pay.' Total scam alert! I'm not Billy Johnston, didn’t change my gender, don’t have any case with them, never seen any bailiffs and definitely owe no money! Blocked the number straight away - watch out for these dodgy messages.

This number belongs to Bristow & Sutor, who are enforcement agents that recover money owed to councils, like for unpaid parking fines. I honestly don't think they should use an 0871 number as it just means more expensive calls for people already being chased for cash. I ended up paying over £7 just phoning them to sort out a payment plan for my stepson.

I recently dialled the number mentioned above, which was provided to me by the council regarding my council tax. I was informed that there are £20.00 in fees associated with this call. It's absolutely appalling that a company is allowed to operate with these premium-rate numbers!

Received a couple of texts from b&s claiming I owe £100 but I’m certain I haven’t got any debts with them. The number they asked me to ring was 0871 677 0070. When I looked it up online, it showed as b&s. No way am I calling that number since I don’t owe a penny. These lot are proper dodgy, and I found out this firm is hired by the council to chase unpaid council tax, which is pretty awful knowing how they operate. Maybe there should be some stricter rules from the government about what tactics they’re allowed to use.

They rang about a debt that’s been dead for more than 2 years, nearly 6 years old now. If you try calling them back, they just leave you on hold forever to rack up a high call charge - and thats to people already struggling with money!!! (Makes no sense). The authorities seriously need to step in to shield people from these nasty scumbags.
