They then end up waiting on the line for a minute or two, oblivious to the fact that they’re being duped, until they either grow impatient or run out of balance. Quite the trickery, if you ask me!

When the unsuspecting person rings back, the call is picked up nearly instantaneously after the first ring. What follows is a pre-recorded message, which unfortunately tricks the caller into thinking the line is still active and that they aren’t incurring any charges. Many end up waiting on the line for a minute or two, only to realise they've been left hanging or worse, are running low on credit. It’s rather cunning, isn’t it?

I’ve had a rather dodgy experience with this number. It seems to be the work of con artists who only ring for a moment, just long enough for their number to appear on my screen. Initially, it shows as a missed call, but the moment I try to call back, the line disconnects shortly after connecting. Instead of a proper conversation, I get a rather shoddy recorded message featuring some chap claiming that everyone else is making calls, implying that it’s a free service. They hang up within a couple of seconds, likely hoping you’ll either lose your patience or end up paying something. Quite the nuisance, really!
