It's absolutely ludicrous! We've just received a staggering bill of £8,000, claiming that our phone dialled this number a whopping 4,000 times during the bank holiday. We were away, so how on earth could this happen? It's simply unbelievable! There's no way we can afford such an outrageous amount. Can someone please tell me who's behind this number?

The phone number belongs to Thorndon Security, a firm that conducts alarm tests by having the system ring the client’s home. Each time this occurs, the customer is billed. This isn't an issue linked to the phone service provider.

This number has been employed by my security system to contact ADT, which oversees monitoring for several smaller local firms. Each time I activated, deactivated, or tested the alarm, it would ring, and I ended up racking up more than 20 pence for each call last week. Had this been a conventional landline number, it would have fallen under my calling plan, hence an unanticipated and unwelcome expense attached to the system. It’s turning into over £200 a year before VAT, which is quite the unexpected financial burden.
