If you've got caller ID, my advice is just ignore or block them, but beware, they've got heaps of numbers so blocking one isn’t really a solution. I noticed they often ring once, get a quick reply like ‘added’ before hanging up, which makes me think they've logged your number as active for more pestering later on. Whatever you do, don’t ring them back - it’ll probably end up costing you somehow.

Got a call from someone pretending to be from the BT help desk, sounded like an Indian call centre. They were telling me there was some suspicious foreign activity on my internet. They wanted me to switch on my computer to 'show' me the issue, but I knew it was a scam straight away. I told them if they phoned me again, I’d be reporting them. Watch out for this kind of call!
