So I called this number to tell them about some identity theft, but it took forever before I could actually talk to a person. Then I realised I got charged £8.58 for that call! Later on, I worked out you can just use their online form to report fraud without paying anything.

If you’ve rung JDW or AW on this 0871 premium number for any after-sales questions since June 2014, you could get your call costs back (from JDW or AW). According to The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, Part 4, Section 41, helpline charges shouldn’t be above the basic rate. For people with inclusive calls to 02, 03, or 02 numbers, the basic rate is actually zero pence per minute, so you should be fully refunded for those 0871 call charges.

My elderly neighbour has been completely scammed and conned after calling 0871 231 2000. He’s a vulnerable 70-year-old gentleman and now he’s out of pocket by FORTY-FIVE POUNDS AND SEVENTY-TWO PENCE - £45.72! They say calls to PREMIER MAN can last nearly five hours. On 5th December I rang JD Williams about a missing item from my order. The call ended up being nearly 16 minutes and I got charged £13.75 for it! I was stuck on hold for ages and when I finally spoke to someone, they were really unclear and took forever to find my order. The initial call lasted around 40 seconds, while the follow-up stretched to nearly four minutes. I'm fairly certain these calls claimed to be from Amazon, as I often get such calls; however, I always hang up promptly since I don't engage with Amazon, and I'm well aware it's a scam. Interestingly, they've managed to reverse the charges, which I find quite baffling-how can that happen without my consent? Just noticed this on my Virgin Media statement for the month. Ridiculous - got billed £1.93 for a 7 minute call trying to sort out a delivery with JD Williams.

I had a rather dodgy phone call supposedly from Amazon Prime. I wisely chose not to respond by pressing any buttons, yet somehow found myself £6.56 lighter on my EE bill. I didn't even engage in a conversation! Looks like I've been caught out by a scam!

I’ve just realised this is actually Marisota’s catalogue, which is linked to JD Williams. Honestly, it’s a bit absurd how much they ask you to fork out just to get in touch by phone. It’s far more sensible to set up an online account with JD Williams instead; it doesn’t set you back a penny and saves you all the hassle!

these con artists need to be stopped. the best way is to report them. just search 'action fraud' in your browser, then go to the 'police.uk' website, click on the 'reporting' tab, and from the dropdown choose the phishing report. keep scrolling past the scam email advice to find the form for reporting this kind of fraud. the little text boxes will get bigger as you type so you can add as much detail as you want. no need to sign up or anything. be careful out there and please report every single one of these tries to steal from us.

Julipa: 08712312000 I was tryin to ring JD Williams but it shows Julipa on caller ID. My phone bill is now over £50 because of this. Avoid it, looks like a dodgy scam to me. I’ve reported it. They ring me every day between 4 and 4.30pm. I don’t pick up but still get charged.

Got my phone bill today and they’ve slapped on £10.39 plus a £2.05 “service fee”. I was on hold for like 15 minutes, with the answerphone repeating “your call is important to us” over and over 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ Honestly, not impressed at all.

I rang this number, it was some kind of premier service. I was just trying to find a lost package and ended up being charged £11 for two calls that lasted under a minute each. Proper rip off!

Totally agree with what everyone else has said, I got billed nearly £10 just for ringing up to sort out my payment for some clothes I got from Fashion World, which I found out is connected to JD Williams. Honestly, I’m gutted and won’t be shopping with them again, no way.

I just got my phone bill and noticed a charge of £2.22 from a number I didn’t recognise. After reading the comments, I reckon it’s from some online chat with JD Williams.
