Honestly, these folks are about as useful as a chocolate teapot when anything goes awry, and it's an absolute farce! They’re nothing but scammers, including Sky Protect itself!

We find ourselves in the same predicament, receiving calls claiming our Sky box subscription is on the verge of expiration. It’s been quite misleading, as we genuinely believed we were communicating with Sky and ended up signing up for their protection plan. The paperwork we received was amateurish, shady, and far from adequate. We’ve granted them a ten-week window to sort this out, or we shall have no choice but to escalate the issue to trading standards and the information commissioner.

I just received a call from someone who was talking at a ridiculous pace, making it seem as though he was representing Sky. He claimed that our insurance was on the verge of expiry, which struck me as rather peculiar since we don’t actually have any insurance policies. When I probed him on the company he was calling from, he eventually revealed that it was MBK Digital. Once I mentioned our lack of insurance, he seemed taken aback and abruptly ended the call. It was quite impolite, to say the least, and we certainly don’t take kindly to calls from individuals trying to mislead us.

We ended up getting a coverage plan from this company, and I must say, they’re quite impressive! Just a fortnight later, they sent us a remote control, while Sky was eager to hit us with a £13 charge plus P&P. It seems there are numerous third-party companies that offer coverage for Sky, since they don’t handle it directly-probably their way of raking in profits. Now, there was a business that called themselves Sky Protect, but they have no proper affiliation with Sky. The name ‘Sky’ isn’t protected, so it gets a bit murky with their branding. After delving a bit deeper, we discovered that MBK Digital Services are actually registered with the FSA and are a legitimate operation. I’m really pleased with the deal we secured!

We received a rather annoying call from some muppets trying to peddle insurance for our Sky box. When we explained that we’d just upgrade to an HD box if ours packed in, the young lady insisted that wasn’t an option, despite having just claimed our Sky box belonged to us! For a laugh, we kept challenging every point he made, clearly enjoying the banter while he struggled to keep up. Honestly, these individuals don’t know what they’re doing-best to give them a wide berth!

I just received another call from that number. The caller seemed to know my name and address, which was quite unsettling. He mentioned, "I just wanted to inform you that your warranty has expired on your Sky services, and any repairs in the future would incur an £88 charge." I told him I was considering purchasing a new unit, and he seemed somewhat pleased with that response. The strange thing is, I've only had Sky for about nine months! Quite bizarre if you ask me.

This number gave us a call at precisely 13:15 today. We allowed our answering machine to handle it, and as soon as the caller realised they were speaking to a machine, they hung up. How utterly rude! They didn’t even bother to leave a message. We've now identified who they are and have taken measures to block their calls. Rest assured, we won’t be answering their calls in the future - I have absolutely no interest in engaging with them.

Skyprotect is an absolute farce! They’re merely cashing in on the Sky brand and handing over a cut to Rupert Murdoch. My experience with them has been a nightmare; they can take up to seven weeks just to send someone out to your home. I can’t be the only one who’s had the misfortune of dealing with them. They’re just another independent firm, just like all the others out there.

MBK Digital seems to be operating with an incredibly antiquated database, promoting their services. I’ve been pondering who exactly sold them our number, as we've never received a call from this lot prior to now. It’s quite likely they'll pass our details along to yet another leeching cold-calling operation.

I had a call from these folks earlier on, claiming they were reaching out regarding Sky Digital. Naturally, we were curious about what they were actually peddling. When I pressed the woman on this, she asked, "Why on earth do you think we're trying to sell you something?" I responded, "Well, considering your last call was an attempt to sell me a warranty for my Sky equipment, it seems rather obvious." To which she replied, "Ah, but that offer has now expired." I shot back, "Since that box only set me back £7, I’m not particularly fussed." There was a bit of faffing about from her end before I decided it was time to end the chat. Just said “Goodbye” and hung up.
