This bloke called me about a speeding fine, said I could download an app or something. I’d been flashed recently, so figured it might be legit. He even knew I was doing 40 in a 30 zone, which was right, but got my car make wrong. I ended the call straight away, but then my mate rings me laughin’ his head off because he’d recorded the whole chat. Properly got me good, haha!

Theres this prank app you can get that’s all done with pre-recordings but still manages to surprise folks since the call’s recorded n all, which means it could be used for scams. Usually its mates or family mucking about but if someone nasty gets your number, they might use it for bad reasons. Best thing to do is just hang up straight away.

I’m pretty sure this isn’t some “prank app” making the call. It seems more like a pre-recorded message trying to get you to say stuff about yourself and your address so scammers can catch it on record and use it for dodgy purposes. This number rang me saying that I’d apparently left a note on his car with my details saying I’d bumped his vehicle and to get in touch. I asked him what my reg was if he had it, and he said he didn’t need to tell me and that he’d go through my insurance. I told him I don’t have any insurance so good luck with that. Then he just said "we'll see" and ended the call.

Some bloke called me on this number claiming a taxi was booked and waiting ages at some address to pick me up. I told him I hadn’t asked for any taxi and was just lying in bed at home. Then he says I’ll need to pay £150 for the call he made to me. When I told him I’d not done anything and would ring the cops, he just hung up. Seems dodgy, I’m worried that maybe some older or vulnerable person might fall for it and end up paying. I’ve reported it to the police hoping they catch the guy soon.

I've received calls for the past two days straight, both from a withheld number and this one. I never pick up without checking this site first, and judging by what I'm finding, it looks like another prank call. Not really my cup of tea!

Just got a call where someone asked if this was a street or an avenue, speaking with a South African accent. Honestly, these clueless lot really should find proper work instead of bothering people. Get a real job or seriously, maybe just disappear or something. So annoying.

(A) I don’t know anyone with such a heavy Irish accent (B) I’ve got four big dogs, so if one was barking, they all would be, and I’d definitely be aware (C) hardly anyone has my number saved (D) it was a business line calling, not a local landline or mobile. 🥱 #blocked

That's odd! I just received a call from some bloke claiming I was nicking his Wi-Fi. He then proceeded to shout, "YEAH! YEAH! FREE WIFI FOR EVERYBODY!" I told him to shove off and ended the call. Definitely blocking that number; I initially thought it was one of my mates just having a laugh!

Got a call from this number just before 11 at night, twice actually, but I didn’t pick up. The second call came with a voicemail from a bloke claiming I’d ordered three pizzas and that he was nearby but couldn’t find my place. Kinda creeped me out, especially being a woman on my own.

My 17 year old daughter got a call from someone claiming they found an iPhone 8 in a taxi with her number on it. They said they want to return the phone to the owner but want her to pay £100, threatening to sell it on eBay for £300 if she doesn’t. They seemed really pushy about it, which felt a bit off.

Somebody called me sayin my number and car reg were passed on 'cause I supposedly bumped into their vehicle, but I never hit any car. They mentioned they'd reach out to my insurance to file a claim. It's all a load of rubbish. I've gone ahead and blocked the number now.

Got a suspicious call just now, some bloke telling me I had a speeding fine for doing 40 in a 30 on a private road. He said it’d cost me £60 plus 3 points on my licence. When I asked for the road name, he came back with something about a BMW6 being caught speeding (I don’t even own a BMW!). So I asked what car it really was and he goes, “Oh sorry mate, maybe someone’s having a laugh at your expense, what d’you reckon? Ha ha.” I just kept quiet and he ended the call after a few seconds. Pretty dodgy if you ask me.
