An individual with a distinctly Asian accent attempted to sell us a BT Broadband package, despite the fact that we're already customers. He dangled the prospect of a hefty discount for signing up again. However, when we asked for the phone number, it turned out to be linked to a bogus address and a made-up postcode. They couldn't even tell us where BT's headquarters is located. I made it clear to them that this seemed deceitful. It felt like they were just repeating our words back at us, and eventually, she hung up right after we pointed out that it felt like a phishing scam! I straight up told him he was a scammer, but he carried on parroting the same erroneous details and seemed to ignore everything we had to say. I let him know that we thought he was trying to con us, but he just kept repeating the same incorrect details and ignored our comments.
