There’s been two attempts to charge £30 and £23 to one of our bank cards, thank goodness our building society (Nationwide) caught it straight away. Tried calling O2 a couple of times to report it but got nowhere (we don’t even have an account with them). We think the card info might’ve been stolen when we ordered a pizza online from a place in Sheffield because we rarely use that card for anything else. Got a message from my bank in April 2019 about some charge. It said O2 had taken £20 from my current account. The payment description showed “O2 UK PAY & GO.” I rang the bank straight away and told them I’m with Three, not O2. They sorted it out and gave me my money back the very next day. Over the past week I've noticed around 8 deductions of £20 or £30 on my Barclaycard, all saying they’re O2 PAYG, which I don’t know anything about as I pay monthly through direct debit from another bank. I’ve checked my card usage for the last six months and haven’t used the card in person at all, only online, mostly on Amazon, Screwfix and Toolstation. This makes me suspect that one of those places might have had a security problem.

I rang NatWest and they told me my account had been hacked. These people took £10 in January, then nothing for a while, but then again in May, June, July and August. I've seen loads of posts from 11/11/19 and 03/11/19 explaining how to deal with these dodgy calls. Just Google 'action fraud', then head over to the 'police.uk' website and find the 'reporting' section to report the phishing scam. You don’t need to sign up unless you've been actually robbed; then you report it as a crime. If everyone reported these scam calls, the police would've shut this number down by now! Do your bit and report every one of them.

Yep, it’s true. My bank account showed several charges to 02 PAYG. I spotted 5 payments made to 02 PAYG and I contacted my bank to say I hadn’t done any of these. All 5 payments happened within 2 days, adding up to about £60. Today, the bank sent me a letter with details of the retailer from 08702412020. This O2 scam needs to be reported straight away to both O2 and the police, specifically through their Action Fraud site: Reporting: Report Phishing section. Just follow the steps online - it’s straightforward. If we don’t bother reporting these offences to the authorities, nothing gets done to catch the crooks. These scammers bank on people ignoring the police, which is why they keep getting away with it. Ultimately, we all end up footing the bill through higher bank fees and phone costs. Honestly, these scammers need to be reported straight away to Action Fraud through their phishing complaint page. Just stick to the steps online and send all the info to the NFIB as they say. I’ve come to learn that this particular number is being misused for fraudulent activities, yet O2 continues to process payments for it! A scoundrel managed to siphon off £80 from my husband’s account, and it seems O2 is utterly indifferent! They’re quick to take your cash, but as pay-as-you-go customers, our misfortunes appear to be of no concern to them. They simply shift the responsibility onto the bank, who, frankly, have no information regarding this phone number! On the 26th of February 2018, there were two unauthorised withdrawals of £30 each from my bank account, followed by another £30 theft twice on the 3rd of March 2018. Upon checking my statements, I noticed this entry: O2 UK PAY & G0870 241 0202. It’s worth noting that I have no affiliation with O2 whatsoever. I've already flagged this issue with my bank, and their Fraud Team is currently investigating the situation.
