I dialled 08080408408, which is linked to Vodafone, to switch from PAYG to a fresh £10 contract and sought a PAC code. However, I was told not to ring that number again, as they just couldn’t assist with the transfer. Instead, I was directed to call 08700776655, supposedly the new PAYG FREEPHONE helpline. We’re not gullible, we know full well that 08700 numbers aren’t actually free! Yet, that’s the advice given by their representatives. Just a word of caution, folks… stay alert!
