However, after reaching out to the local Trading Standards in Newcastle, I was informed that their listed address is nothing more than a dilapidated site. Given all this, it leads us to suspect that this firm might be operating a scam.

I received a phone call earlier today from an outfit calling themselves Corporate ID Bureau, who claimed that someone in Johannesburg was looking to register fifteen different versions of my domain name. They mentioned that for the tidy sum of £1500, I could secure my claim before they did. Naturally, I decided to do some digging via ICANN, only to find that these folks aren't listed as an officially accredited registrar. After a bit of back and forth, we called Corporate IB again, and upon further discussion with a manager, they confirmed that these blokes are indeed not accredited. It's not outright confirmed as a scam yet, but there's definitely something a bit dodgy about the whole situation.

Corporate ID Bureau is truly dodgy. We encountered the same rigmarole that others have reported as a scam. After securing the .co.uk domain, we went ahead and registered the .com, only for them to claim it was still up for grabs! When they rang us back, we made it clear that we were onto their game, having heard of someone else receiving the same spiel. Their response? A rather indignant "How rude!" before slamming down the phone. Tread carefully, folks!

Corporate ID Bureau -- what a familiar tale that rings alarm bells for us! We went and secured the .com domain, thinking it was a sound move since we already owned the .co.uk version. But wouldn't you know it, they still had the cheek to say the .com was up for grabs! When they rang us back, we made it clear that we were onto their little game, having heard about a similar experience from another acquaintance. The response we got was priceless: "How rude!" followed promptly by a hang-up. Take heed, everyone!

I received a call from a lady who identified herself as working for a call centre, claiming that someone in Fulham is trying to register multiple domain names using our business name. She mentioned that her company is called Neteasy. We let her know that we would be escalating this issue to Nominet.

Just a quick update: previously, we posted a comment and have since escalated the issue to Trading Standards. They've informed us that this company has a significant number of complaints filed against them. Do yourselves a solid and report them as well - it only takes a mere five seconds, and you'll be lending a hand in the process!

There's something rather dodgy about being pressured to act within such a tight timeframe. It’s reminiscent of those dodgy emails you get, claiming your account will be terminated if you don’t respond immediately. I've encountered these sorts of scams before; they thrive on creating a sense of urgency to force you into a rash decision. It’s all about inducing a panic, really.

Business Registration Bureau Absolutely spot on, I received a call from these folks claiming that there was an attempt to register my business name along with some variations. Thankfully, that hasn’t panned out on my end, but they said they would keep this line active for a bit. It beggars belief why I was told all this. We simply go about our business as we see fit. £1500, you must be joking! They must think I’ve just popped out of the nursery!

Corporate ID Bureau, eh? Quite the farce! I had a call from them too, claiming that someone was trying to nab my company names and their variations. The cheek of it! The person on the line obviously didn’t have a clue about our affairs. They mentioned they’d put it on pause for a bit while I made up my mind. Well, I told them to go ahead and do what they please. Asking for £1500? Really? They must think I’ve just tumbled off the turnip truck!
