Got a call from someone claiming to be Microsoft. I said I was recording the conversation and asked for their name. They abruptly ended the call right after that. Definitely a scam.

I picked up the phone and there was silence at first, then out of nowhere a robot voice said goodbye and just cut off. It was pretty eerie, honestly.

Had another dodgy call from someone Asian claiming they needed to fix my computer. Honestly, it’s about time the authorities started cracking down on these scammers who try to trick people and steal from them. They seriously ought to be tracked down and either kicked out of the country or put to work somewhere hard!

total scam - I work at a place with more than 30 computers, and these guys tried convincing me that every single one of them got infected with a virus. They wanted us to pay for some ‘windows security system’ upgrade. when i asked how many machines were actually affected, they said just mine. totally fishy stuff.

Saw the number on my phone and decided not to pick it up. Later, I checked the voicemail but only got a dial tone instead. To be sure everything was okay, I called a different number right after.

Got a ring from an Asian bloke saying he was from Windows, warning me my computer was on the verge of crashing and causing chaos worldwide. Sounded pretty convincing, a proper smooth talker, but luckily not slick enough to fool me.

got a call from a bloke with a strong asian accent saying he was from some windows tech support. he kept pushing that my pc had loads of problems and that he could fix them, really wanted me to have my computer on and be at it, probably to sneak into my system or something. since i work from home, i only trust calls about my work pc from my company’s IT team, so this felt really dodgy and like a scam. would avoid these folks for sure.

This number has called me a few times now. I warned them that if they keep ringing, I’d report them to the coppers. They hung up straight away after that. Luckily, my landline provider lets me block numbers when they show up on caller ID, so I’ve set that up for this one. If you’re getting calls from this number too, you might want to see if your phone company does the same. I swear, the amount of annoying calls I get is just growing and growing!

Got a call from this number saying they were from Windows support, but I asked if they were our new window cleaners and how much it would cost. They just cut me off after that! Quite strange. - Anon

Just got a call at like 8.58 on Saturday, 7th Nov. The person was saying I’d downloaded some sort of virus info and told me to get on my computer straight away. I told them I don’t even own a computer, then they asked if I had a laptop or any gadget I use to get online with. I said no, so they just hung up. The voice sounded Asian.

Got a call from an Asian guy with a couple other voices faint in the backround. He claimed my PC was running some kind of report and said they’re the service provider. I thought they meant to call my home number. As soon as I said our IT team handles that, they hung up straight away.

I’m really annoyed with these callers - I’ve been waiting on some important updates about my elderly dad who’s in hospital, and every time the phone goes off, I jump to answer it. But it’s just these idiots ringing me again. Honestly, if it happens once more, I’m gonna shout at the top of my lungs!

I've been receiving calls from some “Windows Service Station” folks claiming they need to access my PC remotely through Teamviewer. Pretty sure it’s all a con.

Each time it’s a bloke named James, but the surname switches between Watson and Walker. They have an accent that sounds Asian, maybe Indian. One of them gave me a number, 0800 088549, said they were based in London and supposedly Microsoft-approved, but it just doesn’t add up.

So, these fools ring me up saying my PC's about to crash any moment now. They asked me to switch on my computer so they could fix the issue. I told them I don’t even own a computer. Then the bloke shouted, "sod off, you w***er" and just ended the call.
