RCA Business Consultants from Manchester tried to buy my business! It's only been running for about 6 months. Looks like they’re also using LinkedIn, so I guess loads of others might get the same call. The number started with 0161 but I ended up deleting it. Pretty sure they’ll call again tho! I got a call from this number inquiring about the business owner. I informed them that they weren't calling from this office and that their operations are overseas. I also mentioned that we're not permitted to provide email addresses for unsolicited sales calls-then they simply disconnected! Quite cheeky, really!

Non stop ringin but cant call em back to tell em off coz all I get is a message sayin RTA tried to reach me. My voicemail is full all the time now. Can’t block the number either coz it’s always private. This really ought to be against the law.

I received a call from this number at 10:48 on the 24th of June, 2016. When I answered, I could hear some muffled voices before the line went dead. This isn't the first time I've had a call from them; previously, it was just silence on the other end. Quite mysterious, really!

If its RTA business consults youre dealing with, be careful - its a total scam. They say they're the biggest business selling agents in the UK, but dont trust them at all. Just search online and youll find out what a terrible company they are, only trying to cheat people out of their cash. Stay well clear!

This person keeps ringing up asking for the owner of the business. When we ask what it’s about, he just says 'the future of the business.' We ask for more details and he gets quite rude. There are 3 directors at RTA (Business Consultants) Ltd, one being Paul Francis O'Reilly, 74 Dickenson Road, Manchester M14 5HF. I reckon everyone should send him a letter without a stamp just to waste his time. We can't stop the calls and he can't stop us posting letters.

Got a call from some woman who sounded really sketchy, asking for the person in charge of the business. When I asked if it was a cold call, she just snapped and hung up on me, no goodbye or anything.

I had a rather pretentious chap on the line who insisted he needed to have a word with the proprietor regarding "business transactions and acquisitions." Quite the impressive tune he was playing. Unfortunately, it seems that conversation never materialised-it appears luck wasn’t on his side, eh?

Rang in at 11:35 this morning on the 23rd of March 2013. Utterly uninterested in engaging in any conversation-just bluntly stated he wasn't keen on chatting. I had a rather unpleasant encounter with a so-called 'salesman' who simply wouldn't accept my polite decline. He acted as if he was genuinely interested in purchasing my business, but it felt more like harassment. I ended the call, but it was impossible to ring back since the number clearly doesn't accept incoming calls. That would certainly explain their audacity to be so disrespectful.

Why not employ a little tactic of your own with these companies? It can be quite entertaining. If you find yourself with some spare time and are in the mood for a chuckle, keep them chatting as long as possible while feigning interest in their pitch. Fire off as many questions as you can conjure and interrogate each point they make. When you've had enough or need to dash off to something else, simply inform them that you have zero interest in what they’ve proposed and that your so-called interest was just a way to lead them on-after all, you’re just returning the favour for their inconvenient call that interrupted your day. Additionally, if you’re feeling particularly cheeky like I have in times gone by, invite these salespeople over to give you quotes on things like double glazing or insurance. After they’ve gone through their elaborate spiel and invested considerable time, you can have a good laugh telling them it was all for kicks, prompted by their unsolicited outreach. Enjoy yourself!

I thought, splendid - that would put an end to it! **But lo and behold, I was mistaken!** The calls just keep coming! So when they rang again, I dramatically declared, "the owner has passed away..." and to my delight, the incessant calls ceased. Take my advice: you’ll struggle to shake them off otherwise. They clearly have no personal acquaintance with the owner. So, here’s a cheeky toast to whoever the late owner may have been... R.I.P! Ha! ;0)

I’ve been inundated with calls-six times daily, mind you-from an 0845 number. So, I decided to invest in an app called Iblacklist for my iPhone. It’s absolutely brilliant! Whenever a pesky nuisance caller gets through, I just add them to my blacklist right from the recent calls section, and then I can simply ignore them. It’s quite amusing, really; if you want a chuckle, just pop into the history folder to see how many times that number's been shut down. Quite the satisfying experience!
