It appears to be the customer service team from Orange. They've contacted us several times regarding an issue with our home phone. Although we've since moved on, they still seem to acknowledge our number since they provide our broadband service as well.

For the past week, I’ve been inundated with calls from the number 0845-8630088, even receiving one at the unearthly hour of 4.30 am while I was away in Canada! Each time I answered, there was nothing but a garbled noise before the line went dead. After doing a bit of online sleuthing, I suspected it might be from Orange, as hinted at in various threads, and since I’m also with them, I thought it might be pertinent. Upon my return to the UK, the incessant calls continued, and I was met once again with silence. When I attempted to return the call, an automated female voice informed me it was indeed Orange. She conveyed that they’d missed me but insisted all was well. I then called Orange Customer Services, only to be told this wasn’t one of their official numbers. However, they were willing to investigate as there was concern it might be fraudsters or a dubious company trying to persuade me to switch plans. The calls persisted, each time returning to that annoying muffled sound until, finally today, a human voice broke through the static. The individual claimed to be from Orange Broadband, which I’m also subscribed to. When he asked for my landline number for ‘security purposes’, my instincts told me to decline, suspecting a scam. He insisted he couldn’t share any details without it, which led me to demand to speak with a manager regarding all the nuisance I had been experiencing. After a barrage of refusals, this chap continued to call me by my first name, wished me a "good day," and abruptly hung up on me! I then reached out to Orange Broadband once more. As it turns out, it was indeed their collections department behind the calls. A manager is now dealing with my grievances, but it’s a right mess as Orange mobile and broadband can’t share information between them! It’s just infuriating; it’s as if the left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing! My disappointment with Orange is simply off the charts!

Just received a call from these folks, but as soon as we answered, they hung up without a word. Quite odd, really!

I didn't catch the call on my mobile, and there wasn't a message left behind. We're on the Orange network, so perhaps it's them?

This isn’t from Orange at all. We’ve only just received this number; give our landline a bell. I’m unlisted, so I’m puzzled how these folks ended up with it. I’m with Orange for my mobile, so we called them up to find out if the number belonged to them. The individuals we spoke to said it wasn’t theirs.

This call was from Orange's customer service team. They were following up on an inquiry we made a few weeks back.

I received a call from this number at 2 am today. I’ve no idea who it is, but the caller waited for my voicemail to kick in without leaving any message. Rather peculiar, isn’t it?

I’m not sure who this was, and I’m curious as to why they decided to ring us so late in the evening.
