In addition to the above, as an expatriate still holding a UK bank account, we engage directly with a personal adviser at our branch. He has categorically stated that there are no attempts from our branch to get in touch and that they wouldn’t resort to such methods for communication. Following this, we took precautionary measures by updating our security codes related to online banking, and thankfully, we've seen no signs of any unusual activity in our accounts. We strongly recommend that anyone receiving a call from this number should take similar steps.

I received a missed call from this number. When I called back, a lady on the line claimed to be from the security department of Clydesdale Bank and Yorkshire Bank. We mentioned that we don’t actually bank with either of those institutions. She apologised for the mix-up, insisting it was simply an error and that she hadn’t asked us any personal details regarding our banking situation. It left me a bit puzzled, to be honest. I'd recommend exercising caution and probing them further if you get a call like this. Best, George Fay from Ayr, Scotland.

Received a missed call from this number, so I decided to give them a ring back. The person on the other end claimed to be part of the security team for Clydesdale Bank or Yorkshire Bank. When I mentioned that we don’t have any accounts with either bank, she apologised for the mix-up, saying it was likely an error. Interestingly, she didn’t inquire about any of our personal banking details, which leaves us a bit puzzled. We’re not certain what this is all about, so it might be wise to remain cautious and ask plenty of questions if you ever find yourself in a similar situation. Best, George from Ayr, Scotland.
