I received a call from this number earlier today. I picked it up, but instead of a voice, all I got was a persistent dialling sound, so I hung up. My other half mentioned it sounded like some sort of sales pitch. Regardless, we certainly didn’t ring them, so it’s a bit bold for them to have a setup that pretends we’re the ones making the call! Cheeky lot, honestly!

I’ve got to say, there’s something rather dodgy about this number. The moment we respond, the calls start flooding in, and it’s only after a few rings that someone picks up. It all feels a bit suspicious, if you ask me!

I can assure you, this is definitely not a scam. We discovered this number on the reverse side of our bill, and after calling a few days back for a new credit card from Nationwide's customer services, everything went swimmingly. The only catch was that the call charged us 24 pence for every quarter of an hour.

I've had an endless stream of calls from this number throughout the previous year. Eventually, I bit the bullet and picked up the phone, only to find it was Nationwide trying to push more of their services on me since I already have their credit card. I made it clear I wasn't keen on what they were offering, and the bloke assured me there wouldn't be any more calls. Yet here we are, and they've started ringing me again this week. Absolute muppets!

Without a doubt, the number belongs to Nationwide, specifically their credit card division. Just had a call from them inquiring whether I'd be interested in raising my credit limit. In the span of just ten seconds at 8:15pm, we received a pair of calls from this number. Intrigued, we decided to ring back using our home phone and confirmed it was from Nationwide. Turns out, there was a marketing label linked to our details, which we certainly didn’t appreciate. Thankfully, a rather pleasant young chap managed to remove that pesky tag for us, ensuring we won’t be disturbed again. Problem solved!

This is nothing short of a fraud! Do NOT share your security information with these individuals! We reached out directly to Nationwide and they confirmed that this number isn’t associated with them, nor has anyone from their team tried to contact us. Just to reiterate, THIS number is a scam! If it were a legitimate Nationwide phone number, it would be listed on their official website or at least acknowledged when you inquire about it.

Got a call from this number while I was in, and since I normally screen my calls, I let it go to voicemail. The message was some recorded voice apologising for the wait, saying the advisors were busy! Now I’m wondering, did that mean I was charged like I’d actually answered the call? This number is from a national firm but it's generally their promotions team calling. Like, they might say your card limit's gone up or offer 0% interest on balance transfers. I've found the number to be legit, so it’s nothing to worry about.

Answered the phone and all I could hear was ringing from the other side, so I just hung up. You never know, they might hit you with a random charge once you connect. If it’s not actually Nationwide calling, how would they even know you hold an account with them? And if it is, it seems pretty dodgy to make it sound like you’re the one dialling out. Honestly, the safest bet is just to not bother answering.

Got a message from some dodgy number (07860-035280) claiming to be from Nationwide bank. They told me to ring 0845 7998899 to confirm a card transaction or reply with ‘y’ if the text was legit. Absolutely scammy! Don’t even think about calling that number, it’s a total rip-off and they’ll try to drag you into giving away your bank info. Best just delete the text and report it to your bank or the police. Stay safe, folks!

They gave me a ring and wanted me to punch in my card number, which seemed normal enough cause I've had other firms do the same. But then they went on to ask for the three digits on the back of my card, and that's when I got really suspicious. I refused to give it over. They claimed to be from Nationwide and couldn't even explain why they were ringing me in the first place. I've saved the number as Scammers in my phone now, just in case they try again.

Just got a call from this number and the person claimed to be from Nationwide. They said the phone number should be on the back of my card - but it wasn’t there at all. Then they asked if my card was light blue or dark blue, which it isn’t. That made me hang up straight away. I rang Nationwide myself and they VERIFIED it was their number and saw someone from their team had called me, but couldn’t explain why. IF YOU’RE UNSURE, ALWAYS RING YOUR CARD PROVIDER FIRST!

What a complete scam! I can’t stress enough how important it is to guard your personal information from these crooks. We called the official national helpline, and they confirmed that the number we were given is not listed in their records. Moreover, it seems that none of the national services ever tried to get in touch with us. Mark my words, this reeks of deceit. A legitimate national phone number would surely be present on their official site or recognised immediately when you inquire about it. Do yourself a favour and steer clear of these dodgy operators!

Got a message from 07860-035280 claiming to be my bank, Nationwide, asking me to call 0845 7998899 to confirm a card transaction. It asked me to reply with "y" if okay or call that 0845 number if not. Turns out it’s totally fake, these people are scammers just trying to steal your info. Don’t call that number at all, it’s a rip-off and they try to keep you on the line to get your bank details. Best thing is to delete the message straight away and maybe inform your bank or the cops. Just to update, I spoke to Nationwide fraud dept and they said this is from a gang using loads of different numbers trying to con people out of their bank info. They warned me to ignore and bin the message. Legit Nationwide will never send texts from mobile numbers like that. Be careful out there, folks!
