3 yearsI recently encountered a fraudulent caller pretending to be from Barclays bank. They claimed my card was at risk because someone attempted to make a transaction for £4,000! Initially, their act was quite convincing. The call came through as "unknown", but when I expressed my doubts, they repeatedly called back from this dodgy number. The caller had my card details and even recited them back to me. He insisted I log into my banking app for some verification but then bizarrely requested a code from my Pin Sentry. It was at this moment I finally twigged that it wasn't legitimate-Barclays would never ask for such information in that manner. They only communicate through the notification bell once you’re logged in. I promptly rang Barclays, and they assured me my card was safe and there were no suspicious attempts made.
