I keep getting calls from this number, and every time I pick up, it just goes dead quiet like they’re eavesdropping, then they suddenly cut me off. Very weird.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from Clydesdale Bank, saying they'd stopped some suspicious activity on my account. They really tried hard to make it sound believable. I told them I wasn’t convinced, so a "Manager" called me back using the number printed on the back of my card to set up a password with me. Almost immediately, the first caller rang again and knew the password. Then they asked for the account holder's name (which surely they should already have), so I got suspicious and didn’t give it to them. Yet, he was really persuasive. After that, he wanted me to fetch my internet banking code generator, saying he needed it to set up a new account and order a new card. I said I’d rather call the bank myself to check if all this was legit. So I rang Clydesdale Bank directly, and they confirmed everything was fine with my account. Definitely a scam!

Today I got a call from this number saying £1200 was taken from my bank account without permission, but my bank says there’s no such thing.

Got a call claiming it was from the Royal Bank of Scotland, which is odd since I've never had any dealings with RBS at all.
