I’d like to share my thoughts regarding a recent correspondence I received. The telephone number in question claims to be from Scottish Widows in Edinburgh, but there’s something amiss. The email header wasn’t presented in the familiar two-tone colour scheme we typically expect, which raised my suspicions right away. Furthermore, the questionnaire included with the message probes into areas I’d rather not disclose, especially since I’m not convinced this is an authentic Scottish Widows outreach. Had the email displayed the standard Edinburgh 0131 phone number, I would have felt much more at ease and confident in its legitimacy.
