Today, my landline rang three times in under an hour from 0845602111. I didn’t answer the first two calls, but on the third, I decided to pick up. A robotic voice told me I had a message from BT and to press '1' to hear it. When I did, it informed me that one of my email accounts hadn’t been accessed for 90 days and warned it’d be closed in September if I didn’t log in. I’m sure this message was genuine because I also got an email this morning saying exactly the same thing. I’m not saying every call from this number is legit - scam calls seem to be using it too - but in my case, it was definitely a proper message from BT.

On 26th January 2015, I got a call at 2.30 in the morning. Luckily, I use a 'true call' device that picks up before the phone even rings. The call centre left a half-message and just ended the call. Thanks to my 'true call', it alerted me and blocked the number so I won't get disturbed again. When your phone rings that early, you naturally think it’s a family emergency. These Indian call centres are just awful. I swear, my 'true call' gadget is a lifesaver.
