We received a call from a number that matched our caller ID, so we decided to ring it back (using 141 for privacy, of course!). When we spoke to the operator, they informed us that the individuals behind the call were acting on behalf of various enterprises, including places like Business Link and the Learning & Skills Council. They were merely after our details so they could give us a jingle later. In short, it seems they’re on the hunt for clients for their Business Directories.

It appears that this call centre operates on an outsourced basis. The ring we received was in connection with a business entity collaborating with Business Link to provide information about grants. Essentially, it was a cold call.

The call was abruptly cut off as soon as I answered it. When I tried to return the call, it turned out these individuals were representing several companies, including Business Link. Their approach to business is rather poor, considering the number they called was registered to avoid any marketing calls.

When I rang them back, I was met with a recorded message indicating I would be connected to the next available representative, but it just looped back to the same message endlessly. Received a call from this number, claiming to be from BusinessLink. They were insisting that they had the personal details of an individual from our company and had somehow obtained confidential information. Apparently, they wanted to send us some so-called "government" documentation, which clearly sounded like promotional material. It certainly raised our suspicions and seemed very much like a scam to us.

I missed the incoming call and didn't get a chance to answer. Instead, I took the liberty of putting the caller's 0845 number into a search engine to see who it might be. That's how I stumbled upon this website.

Earlier today, we received a call from these individuals who subsequently left a voicemail intended for my husband. They identified themselves as Business Link Sussex and urged him to return their call, citing a reference number that was a bit muddled. However, after perusing the comments from others on this platform, we have serious doubts about their legitimacy!

Received a call on our private mobile number, which isn’t listed. I decided to look up the number and stumbled upon this site. Eventually, the voicemail mentioned they were calling "on behalf of" Business Link, a company we've previously interacted with. This makes me believe that the call was likely legitimate.

We're getting calls from this lot practically every day. It's become so routine that we know the number by heart and just let it slide. They never leave a message, and when we try to call back after blocking our number, their automated system just tells us all their agents are busy and then cuts us off. It's quite frustrating! We really wish they would just remove us from their list. The thing is, we’ve never had the chance to actually speak to anyone or leave a message - it's all very annoying.

Received a call on our unpublished mobile number and decided to look it up. Came across this site. The message left behind claimed they were calling "on behalf of" Business Link, an organisation we've interacted with before, so it stands to reason that this might be a legitimate call.

It seems this organisation is operating on behalf of Business Link-it’s genuine but not directly associated with them. Best to be cautious about levelling accusations at companies!

The moment I answered the call, the line went dead. When I tried ringing back, I discovered that these individuals were affiliated with multiple firms, one of which was a telecom company. The whole situation felt quite dodgy, as their attempts to reach me didn't even register a proper connection, just a frustrating silence on the other end.

We are absolutely livid! The caller claimed to be from a business association, but they were clearly misrepresenting themselves and not acting on behalf of anyone else. We confirmed this three times with the person on the line, making it clear that we were already in possession of our details. Our growing suspicions prompted us to ask more questions since this seems like a classic case of impersonation - pure fraud, if you ask me. We intend to report this to Ofcom because this company needs to be shut down for good!

Today, they’ve rung me twice already and hung up shortly after three rings. When I try to return the call, I’m met with an endless queue for the “next available customer representative,” but there’s no information about who these callers actually are. Much obliged for clarifying that it’s a business entity behind these calls. If we happen to stumble upon them again (assuming we manage to catch them in time), we’ll be sure to let them know that their customer engagement could use a fair bit of improvement!
