When we inquired about what they needed, they abruptly stated that they wanted to discuss an account she supposedly has with them. I explained that this would be rather challenging since she passed away three years ago and has never held an account with Halifax. The caller simply hung up without a word of apology or even a semblance of courtesy. I'm highly suspicious about the authenticity of this call.

It’s rather strange that this barrage of calls only started after we secured a mortgage with Halifax! One can't help but wonder if that’s how they manage to offer such competitive rates. It seems quite plausible that they could be profiting not so much from the mortgages themselves, but by selling off our personal information to telemarketing firms.

I received a call earlier today, but no message was left on my voicemail. Upon returning the call, I was greeted by a pre-recorded message stating, "You were contacted earlier today by the Halifax Bank of Scotland, but it seems I missed you. This call isn't crucial, and I'll reach out again." Honestly, we reckon this was just another marketing call since we don’t have any dealings with Halifax at all.

A caller reached out to our mobile-our number is registered with the MPS, mind you-with a thick southern Irish accent, claiming to represent "Halifax Ireland Ltd." To our surprise, she had our name, the month of our birth (not the year), our address, and the first half of our postcode. She then asked us to confirm our birth year and the second part of our postcode for "security reasons." We declined and asked what the purpose of the call was, to which she insisted it was a "personal business call." Unfortunately, she wouldn't provide any additional details and persistently pressed for the second part of the postcode. Once we stood firm and didn't provide the information, she abruptly ended the call.

Gratitude to this site! I just had a chat with Halifax and shared the number with them. They mentioned that a typical sign of a dodgy caller is that a legitimate one will willingly introduce themselves and state which department they're ringing from. Always remember, never disclose your six-digit Halifax security code to anyone!
