Authentic number from M&S - their suspicious transactions department is inquiring about the usage of my card on various websites. We had asked for a contact number to call back after someone got in touch with us. But really, how are we supposed to identify who these people are when they give us a bell? During our call, they revealed our name in return for our card number and address, and obviously had access to our recent transaction history, right up to an hour earlier.

We received a voicemail asking us to discuss a matter regarding our M&S credit card. After providing them with our card number, they verified our name and checked other related information. They informed us that a vendor we previously engaged with attempted to make another charge to our account but had inputted incorrect details. As a precaution, they’ve put a hold on our card and will be issuing a new one along with a fresh PIN. Seems quite legitimate to me!

I've been getting texts urging me to ring this number, claiming to be Marks and Spencer Money. Turns out, our credit card had been locked. I decided to give them a call, and their method of verification was interesting-they sort of play a game where they ask for part of the information, and then you provide the rest. This number seemed to be authentic, but the way notifications and management are handled could definitely be improved. We reached out to the general enquiry number, and the representatives confirmed that this call was indeed from the fraud department. Utter nonsense, if you ask me! It's a complete scam. Banks and financial institutions would never reach out to their clients like that.
