Isn't it amusing? We received a text from Halifax prompting us to call this very number. However, we opted to ring the official Halifax number listed on their website instead. The gentleman on the line confirmed that the message was genuine, as I had apparently overlooked a payment on our credit card. I was rather surprised to learn this, as we've always been diligent with our payments and hadn't noticed any issues this time around. He explained that they do, on occasion, dispatch texts to alert customers, so it seems this was indeed a legitimate call rather than a scam.

This phone number is legit, I can assure you. I completely relate to what SJP has mentioned; I found myself in the exact same predicament. Whatever you do, do not dismiss a text from this number. From experience, I've had to jump through quite a few hoops to verify things both ways, and she didn’t ask for any credit card details at all. In fact, she only referenced information that only the bank would be privy to. Trust me, it’s best to be cautious!

I received a text from this number, supposedly related to Halifax. Oddly, it included our surname, but this isn't Halifax at all. It appears to be someone overseas trying to fish for our credit card information. Quite dodgy!
