I received a rather suspicious call from a number (020511) purporting to be from HSBC. Naturally, I wasn't inclined to furnish them with any personal information via the phone, so I requested a contact number to reach HSBC directly. They provided me with 08455870102. However, upon doing some sleuthing online, I found no legitimate association between that number and HSBC. I'll certainly be giving HSBC a ring later to report this worrying incident.

I received a voicemail instructing me to ring this number between 8 in the morning and 5 in the evening, purporting to be from HSBC. Upon investigation, I discovered it was a scam. I promptly reached out to HSBC using the number printed on my credit card, which is different from the one in the message. They confirmed they hadn’t attempted to contact me and made a record of the incident.
