Is anyone else getting calls from this phone number?

This number has been ringing me a few times this week but I didn't pick up. Today (15/11/13), they finally got through to me. Turns out it's from a multi-brand car dealership where I've got a car before. They want me to check out some kind of sales event happening this weekend.

On the 4th of November, this number popped up on my phone. Turned out it was the Citroen dealership nearby, giving me a shout about a sales event they had lined up for the weekend. Since then, they’ve been blowing up my phone with like two missed calls every single day!

Today I noticed I’d missed calls from this 0845 number on my phone, a couple of times actually, but there was no voicemail or anything. I usually don’t pick up on these strange 0845 numbers anyway. If it was something really important, surely they’d wait to leave a message? Feels like one of them automated call centres trying to get through.

I've noticed these calls too, usually popping up about 7.20pm.

Like others have suggested here, it's best to just ignore them. If it was urgent, they’d surely leave a voicemail.

I'm pretty wary, but not totally paranoid - it might be some sort of automated dialler checking which lines are active so they can pass them on to those pesky "third party" telemarketers. So if you pick up, you might just be letting them know your number’s live.
