Absolutely, that was Barclays, and we certainly value the call. Having been victims of fraud previously, we’re quite relieved to receive these notifications. It was all resolved rather swiftly and effortlessly, which really brings a sense of reassurance.

Received a call on our landline earlier today from this number. The curious part is, we know Barclays has our mobile number, not the home phone. So, we decided to leave it well alone and not pick up.

This number has been persistently ringing our spouse throughout the day. The issue is that I’m the primary account holder on our joint account, and these individuals only possess our mobile number! So, I’m left wondering why on earth they'd be trying to contact my partner. Sounds like a scam to me, if you ask my opinion!

Sounds like it's from Barclays bank.

Absolutely, it’s the fraud team from Barclays. You can't even do a couple of significant transactions without them poking their noses into your account! Still, it's probably wiser to err on the side of caution. That’s precisely what they’re there for, after all.

FRAUD ALERT! This lot is definitely dodgy - steer clear of sharing any personal details! Any comments claiming to represent the "Barclays fraud team" are nothing more than ruses. It's clear they're attempting to mask their deception with false legitimacy. Just take a gander at the replies; the grammar is shoddy and the English is all over the place. If you need to verify anything, Barclays has an official contact number available on their website, so don’t fall for this trickery!

We received a call from this number the very next day after we raised our concerns about National Express unlawfully deducting funds from our account without providing a ticket! The number 08453512291 appears to be legitimate. We chose not to respond to their call but instead contacted Barclays directly using their official customer service number, and they were able to confirm that this was indeed the fraud department. They promptly transferred us to the right team. Subsequently, Barclays took swift action and froze all our card transactions. It's reassuring to know that they are vigilant in investigating any suspicious activity regarding unauthorised payments. Truly pleased with their quick response!

I received three calls from this number, and we thought it was just another sales pitch, so we let it ring. Curiosity got the better of me, and I looked up the number and decided to return the call. I'm so relieved I did-turns out it was the fraud team at Barclays! Someone had managed to make off with money from my account. Kudos to Barclays for being so quick on the uptake!

Earlier today, we had a chat with Barclays regarding this number, and they advised us to disregard the calls and refrain from sharing any personal details. It seems these callers are fishing for information like your date of birth!

Should this number try reaching out to you, it's best not to return the call. Instead, hop onto the Barclays official site for their contact number or, better yet, pop into your local branch in person. This way, you're sure to uncover whether there's been any genuine fraudulent activity linked to you. I've received calls from this number more than once, and regardless of all the "comforting" statements plastered across various sites, my choice would always be to ring the number from the official site. I’m relieved to say I haven't fallen victim to any scams, but had I returned that call, who knows what trouble could have ensued?

Indeed, this number appears to be legitimate and affiliated with Barclays. It seems someone's tried to use our card details for transactions at John Lewis. While I do think it’s wise to be cautious, in this instance, I reckon offering a little trust was justified!

I received a couple of calls from this number today. We opted to hang up on both occasions and thought it best to do a little digging. I'm pleased we did! After browsing through the comments here, we chose to return the call. Thankfully, the number turned out to be legitimate. I'm currently based in Norway, and this did raise some flags regarding our initial two transactions. The automated system read out the details and asked us to press 1 to confirm everything was accurate. I must say, I'm quite impressed with this level of security. The previous commenter had a valid point as well.

Absolutely not a scam! It was merely a recorded message from the fraud division of Barclays. We've had this happen a fair few times whenever we make what they consider 'suspicious' transactions (which aren't always large sums). They do this more for their own protection than for the sake of the customer. It’s amusing to see some of the comments here, with folks jumping to conclusions about fraud at every turn. One can't help but wonder how these individuals navigate through life, constantly worried about being swindled! 😉

Without a doubt, this is a complete con. I received a text on my phone that appeared to be from SANTANDER (the bank I use), instructing me to call 08453512290 about an urgent issue linked to a recent transaction. Naturally, I contacted SANTANDER through their official number, and they confirmed that there was nothing unusual with my account. It turned out to be a fraudulent message. I made sure to ask them to notify their Security Team about this scam.

This number is just as dodgy as 08453512290. Those scammers are quite cunning-they manage to snag your information through crafty purchases, so it’s no surprise they have details about transactions, probably even their own. I’d suggest giving your bank a bell using their official number.

I recently received a call from what claimed to be Barclays' fraud department, and I must say, it raised quite a few eyebrows. It’s rather bizarre that they were prompting me to tap away at the keypad. What on earth could that be about? Feels a bit dodgy, if you ask me!

We decided to hang up the first time round, as I’ve always been sceptical of automated messages. The second time, we actually paid attention, but I wasn't happy at all about them asking for our date of birth, so I cut the call short. Now, retrospectively, we believe it might have been Barclays that contacted us. It’s a bit worrying why they’d get in touch when we haven’t touched our card in ages, only for the occasional food shop! Should we give them a ring back or just wait to see if they call us again?

We received several calls from them today. Aside from a deduction, we tried to use our details to buy a laptop online, but it turned out our information was deemed 'incorrect'. As a result, we resorted to another account to complete the transaction. That's the only thing we suspect these individuals could have had a problem with. We're relieved we looked into it. Next time they ring, we certainly won’t hesitate to pick up!

Barclays has a bit of a notorious reputation for their scam alert calls. They tend to ring you up when there's anything a tad suspicious going on with your account. It's actually quite handy, but I must admit, it can be a tad vexing as they seem determined to keep calling, no matter how many times you reassure them!
Barclays

Rest assured, there's no scam here! What I received was a recorded message from the fraud department at Barclays. This isn’t the first time I’ve been alerted; they tend to reach out whenever I make transactions that could be deemed 'suspicious'-and it's rarely about big amounts. Their priority is to safeguard their own interests, rather than looking out for us, the customers. It’s quite amusing that some folks here are convinced it’s all a ruse. One has to ponder how they manage to navigate daily life, living in constant apprehension of being duped! 😉

It's definitely not a scam! What you're dealing with is a legitimate call from Barclays' automated fraud detection service. It’s quite straightforward to set it off; for instance, if you attempt to complete a transaction and accidentally enter an incorrect address. Personally, I always use my postal address instead of the billing one, which tends to trigger it for me.

I’m quite pleased to have stumbled upon this Barclays contact, but I must admit, it’s rather vexing that we have to go through this verification process. It's a bit intrusive, to say the least. Nevertheless, I must say it’s certainly an improvement over LTSB!

Absolutely, it's the Barclays fraud team that seems to scrutinise every high-value purchase we attempt to make. Quite the hassle, isn't it? Still, I suppose it's better to err on the side of caution. Here's the precise amount that these individuals have been charged.

I was quite relieved to discover that this was Barclays, yet I can't help but feel a bit miffed that we need to go through all this verification nonsense. It's a bit of an invasion of privacy, if I'm honest, but I suppose it's still preferable to what LTSB offers.

This afternoon, I received three missed calls and a voicemail from these folk. It's baffling how they managed to get hold of my number! I certainly won't be calling them back, and whenever they attempt to reach me, I’ll just cut them off. It’s quite infuriating, to be honest, and I feel utterly helpless in this situation.

I received a total of six calls from this number the other day, and shortly after that, I got a call from a withheld number with the same message. Given the fact that we've never had an account with Barclays, it's quite clear that it’s some sort of scam.

I can confidently say that this isn't Barclays, as I reached out to their customer support, and they confirmed they hadn't attempted to get in touch with me at all. It’s always advisable to directly contact Barclays via the official phone numbers if you want to clarify anything further.

Without a doubt, this is Barclays calling. They have attempted to contact me on my home, mobile, and work numbers in an effort to reach me. I took the initiative to return their call, and then I also dialed the customer service number listed on their website for verification. It’s unequivocally Barclays making these calls. They’ve put a block on my card and dispatched a replacement, as there was a suspicious attempt to use my card over in the USA. Do heed their calls and don’t overlook them!

THIS NUMBER BELONGS TO BARCLAYS’ FRAUD TEAM, NO DOUBT ABOUT IT!
I suggest you head over to the BARCLAYS website to confirm it for yourself.
Earlier, I attempted to take out more cash than I’m allowed at an ATM, and that set off alarms over at BARCLAYS’ FRAUD department.
I simply responded to their queries. They won’t ask for your PIN or your account details. They only needed to verify my date of birth (which they had on file) from a list of options, as well as a few recent transactions, including the one that raised suspicion.
I've been through this before with an actual human, but this time it was an automated system - quite strange conversing with a machine!
Don’t panic, as I initially did. Just visit their website and use the fraud department’s number verification tool.
Always remember, never disclose your PIN, account number, address, or any other personal information!
