Received a call with no one on the other end, and then they promptly disconnected. It's absolutely ridiculous that such calls are permitted.

I received a missed call earlier, and assuming it was from my insurance provider, I decided to ring them back. To my surprise, I ended up speaking to someone claiming to be from emergency services (999). It's crossed my mind that perhaps scammers are redirecting return calls to the actual 999. I mentioned the number I had dialled to the woman on the line. Fingers crossed I won't be contacted by them again. I've added their number to my list of timewasters!
