As soon as we answered, there was nothing but silence on the other end. Next time I’ll keep them hanging until they reveal their company’s name, and then toss in a little reason for the delay like “Just need to check on the roast!” before hanging up. My thinking is that if we can keep them holding, they’ll be too busy with us to bother anyone else for a while. I’m just that kind-hearted! :)

I regrettably let a call from this number slip by, which is a shame, as we operate a business focused on doors and windows, and I reckon we'd have quite a bit in common! Just the other day, I received a call from someone regarding hydroelectric services while we were busy dealing with radiators and the like. We ended up keeping him on the line for a solid nine-and-a-half seconds, pretending to wander about the house looking for radiators. It's become a bit of a game when these unsolicited calls come through! Oh, and for what it’s worth, I believe I've registered with the Telephone Preference Service as well.

I received a rather dubious call on my business line today, with the phone ringing five times in rapid succession. On the fifth ring, when I inquired about who was on the other end, the response was "Fashion Homes" and they claimed to be calling from "Dundee." Frankly, I find that hard to believe. After that, there was a notable silence - no further calls from this lot. I made a mental note to perhaps involve the authorities, as this seems rather dodgy. Honestly, what a bunch of jokers!

As the rightful owner of the property, I picked up the call only to have the chap on the line abruptly hang up on me. Curious about his intention, I dialled 1471 to retrieve the number and decided to ring back, only to be met with a rather dull automated message. It simply stated, "You've received a call from a telesales company. Apologies for not connecting, but I'll try again at another time." Quite frankly, we absolutely recommend they rethink that approach.

Received a call this afternoon, and I was under the impression that businesses weren't permitted to make unsolicited calls on a Sunday. Nonetheless, the number was the same as before, belonging to a firm named Feature Homes. The caller was looking for the property owner and started rambling on about doors and windows. When we inquired how they had obtained our number, he claimed it was through the TPS! We thought the TPS was meant to shield us from such calls, so we kindly asked him to remove our number from their database and hung up the phone.

When I picked up, some bloke on the other end asked to speak to the person responsible for the house. I told him that they shouldn't be contacting my number since we’re registered with the Telephone Preference Service. He didn’t offer any apologies, yet mentioned he’d remove me from their list. I’m quite keen to see if that actually happens!
