Got a call from someone saying they were from Home Secure, telling me I signed up for their call blocking service and had a payment coming up. I’m pretty sure I never signed up for anything like that. Plus, if I did, it clearly isn’t doing its job because I still keep getting loads of these annoying calls. Definitely best to steer clear of these lot.

I received a rather concerning phone call from this number, demanding around £98 as a supposed final payment. They warned that if I refused to cough up the cash, they'd pass my details to a debt collection agency, which could really damage my credit score. They claimed I had a verbal agreement from last year and that I had made some payment, but I genuinely can't remember anything of the sort. After rummaging through my bank statements, there's no record of any payment going to this outfit, allegedly called 'Stop These Calls'. They’re scheduled to ring me again tomorrow. What’s the best course of action?

I received a call from some individuals claiming to be working on halting nuisance calls. They requested a payment of £89.99 for what they described as the second phase of my two-year contract. I explained that I had already forked out that exact sum twice to a different firm, and the bloke on the line insisted that it must have been a fraudulent setup. He suggested I contact my bank, retrieve my funds, and have them look into it.
