Just a quick update here. It seems quite peculiar to receive calls with no messages left behind. We suspect these individuals are nothing more than the dreaded B. S. Mercer types, whom we’ve previously branded as “the dregs of society,” particularly numbers 960 and 961. Quite the unsavoury lot, wouldn't you agree?

It seems these individuals are linked to Barclays, and it's quite apparent they aren't very trustworthy. A former employee from Mercers once mentioned that they've never pursued legal action against anyone. If you find yourself hit with excessive fees, I suggest referencing The Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Regulations 1999, specifically Section 2083. Just a quick update: I'm still receiving calls that ring but don’t leave a message. We're fairly certain it’s those pesky Mercers behind it, as we’ve noticed that numbers 960 and 961 belong to those bottom feeders!

If you follow the advice given above, you'll stumble upon some rather handy template letters to dispatch to them, notifying them of your desire to have your number removed. If they persist with their calls after you've made this request, don't hesitate to lodge a complaint with the Financial Services Authority (FSA) and the Office of Fair Trading (OFT). Keep in mind, when these chaps are so keen to engage with you, they can easily put their intentions in writing. Make it a rule never to converse with them over the phone-there’s no record of what they say, and it leaves you vulnerable to their fibs.
