In April, I got a bill charging me £168.23 plus VAT for a call to this number that supposedly lasted about 7 hours. I have no clue about this call and when I checked my phone records, there’s nothing showing any calls to or from this number on that date. I’ve already contacted O2 about it and now just waiting to hear back. They've told me they’ll look into it, but so far they insist every call on the bill comes from the sim card. It definitely feels like some kind of scam, but I’m baffled how it actually happened.

Had some random call saying I’d won a prize and to hit 2 to get it. Totally fishy, but since we don’t have any real details on who it was, there’s not much we can do about it!

Got a missed call from this number again, but I just didn’t bother returning it. Pretty sure this isn’t the first time they’ve been ringing me.

Got a call that was definitely from marketers trying to sell something, felt a bit dodgy to me.

At long last, I managed to get a hold of someone on this number, and it turns out it’s affiliated with an ISIS recruitment operation. They essentially requested financial support to bolster their campaign against the Syrian regime. Regrettably, I’m not in a position to part with any cash at the present, but I’ve volunteered to help spread the word about their needs. The chap I spoke to, a Mr Muhammad, was quite amiable and had a charming sense of humour. However, he didn’t take kindly to my quip about how the TV series Downton Abbey had controversially dealt with the demise of its canine character, which also happened to be named Isis, like the Greek goddess. Oh, what a time!

Just seen my phone bill and noticed a charge of £23.47 for a 57 minute call to 08454290091 on 22/2/16 at 11:27. Problem is, I didn’t make this call. Earlier that morning, at 09:40, I had a missed call from 08454290081. Feels like a scam to me. I was at work that day (22/2/15) and there's no way I’d spend nearly an hour on a premium number from my mobile. I’m going to contact my provider and try to get the money back.

Whenever I’m at work I just let calls go to voicemail, especially if there’s no message. I won’t be calling back either - don’t wanna get stuck with some random charge.

Got a voicemail sayin press 9 or 2 to opt out. Didn’t recognise the number so just sent it straight to voicemail. Pretty weird tbh.

Not sure about that 0845 number, I’m thinking of just turning it off. If they go to voicemail, they can leave a message, but if it’s not clear what it’s about, I just ignore it. That number’s definitely on my blocked list now.
