I had a bit of a chuckle with the info service here in the UK. I mentioned that I’d registered with the Telephone Preference Service, and they were quite apologetic, assuring me my number would be removed. Turns out, I’m not actually on the TPS!

I answered the phone, greeted with a cheerful "hello," only to be met with some music in the background and a woman's voice chiming in. Before I could make sense of it all, they simply ended the call!

I received a call that mirrored yours just earlier today. The young lady on the line appeared distinctly uninterested!

I answered the call with a cheerful greeting, and they seemed to know my name. After confirming this, I decided to hang up.

I've recently acquired one of these gadgets and thought I’d share my approach to managing the barrage of calls, which appears to be on the rise (even with the TPS in place). To tackle this, I’ve gone for an answering machine to filter my incoming calls. The message I’ve chosen is simple yet effective: “Hello. Please state your name, and I will return your call. Leave your message after the beep. Cheers!” When my phone rings (I’ve adjusted the ringer to the lowest volume - just a couple of rings), I can easily tell if the caller says anything before deciding whether to answer or not. I can still use 1471 to check who called me (that’s how I identified this number). There’s no need for any fancy services or high-tech phones; just a sensible, budget-friendly answering machine. So far, it seems to be doing the trick rather nicely.

I picked up the phone and just as quickly, they hung up! Clearly, my response was a bit too intense!

Please, for the love of all things sensible, instruct them not to contact me again! My number is indeed registered on the do-not-call list for sales callers, but I still keep receiving these nuisance calls! It's beyond frustrating!

I received a rather peculiar call where they inquired about my unclaimed PPI. After a brief chat, they switched me over to another person, only for the line to drop unexpectedly. Quite odd, considering they reached out to my mobile rather than my home phone!

I recently received a call from them; a lady on the other end was keen to find out my identity. If they're reaching out to me, surely they ought to be aware of that! I informed her that I’m on the Telephone Preference Service list and asked her not to bother me again before ending the call. They claimed to be associated with something called the "UK Public Information Centre." Quite the cheek!

7 November 2012. I must say, I was rather irritated by a call I received from this number. There was a rather confrontational lady on the line insisting that I reveal my identity before she would share any details about her reason for calling. When I inquired about who she was, she responded in a manner similar to others I’ve encountered, merely stating "Public Information." The whole exchange left me feeling quite frazzled, and in a moment of exasperation, I told her to "just jog on!" before abruptly ending the call.

I received a curious call today from someone inquiring about my unclaimed PPI from the years 2001 to 2009. Naturally, I was intrigued and questioned them about how they obtained my details. The caller, a woman, informed me that they were unable to disclose that information due to Data Protection regulations!

The thing is, I've never taken out PPI, and as I'm on the Telephone Preference Service list, I firmly told them to cease their calls immediately. What a nuisance!

Claimed to be part of a public information service. I informed them we’re registered with the Telephone Preference Service, but that didn’t seem to faze them at all.

I keep receiving calls from this number, but I always disconnect before anyone has a chance to say anything.

This company claims to deal with PPI claims, but they’ve branded themselves as the "UK Information Service." In reality, they're merely fishing for your personal details so that they can sell you their so-called "services."
