Another supposed bank refund call, and of course they never identify themselves properly... TPS? Yeah right, as if that means anything! Maybe the ICO could do something if you report it, but I doubt it's serious enough to get any real attention. Even if they get caught, paying a fine might just be a cost of doing business for them - then they'll pop up again with a fresh number. For now, this one’s just added to my block list, so hopefully it won’t ring at all next time! Though knowing these lot, they probably have plenty more numbers lined up to keep bothering us. Websites like this are alright for a bit of a moan, but what we really need is official verified lists filtering calls at the network level to help cut down on all this nonsense for everyone!

Honestly, what's the use of the TPS service when it doesn't block a single call? And Offcom? Probably got their hands in it too, so nothing changes. I've got my number on the list, but these calls keep coming anyway, and nobody seems bothered.

Got a call today just about lunchtime from a bloke with a recorded voice saying I could get a fee refund back into my bank account. The message told me to press 3 to claim or 5 if I'd already done so - or maybe it was the other way round, can't quite recall! I hung up straight away. I’m on a private number and signed up to the TPS. It’s maddening that no one with power seems able to put an end to these irritating calls. They’re proper SCAMMERS and ought to be slapped with big fines and blocked completely. I’m considered "elderly," but thankfully I’m alert enough not to fall for their tricks. Feels awful for older folks, especially those who are quite frail, who might get caught out by these dodgy schemes. Honestly, this rubbish needs to be stamped out for good. They’ve been allowed to carry on way too long.

Just got a call from someone speaking with a Cardiff accent. I wasn’t sure who it was at first, but turns out it was a telemarketer trying to sell me something I didn’t need. I wasn’t having any of it, told ’em I wasn’t interested and hung up pretty quick. Not the first time I’ve been called by these kinds of salespeople though!

Got a call with a recorded voice about claiming back bank fees. The accent kinda seemed like he was from Cardiff, but he didn’t want it to be very clear. As usual, it’s one of those dodgy pay-to-get-your-money-back schemes. Caller ID was unknown, obviously.

Got a call from a bloke, sounded pretty posh, with a recorded message about getting some bank fees refunded like last time. Ended up just hanging up though - I had a feeling if I pressed 5 or 9 it’d end up costing me a fortune on a premium rate number.

Got a recorded call telling me to press 5 to claim some money back. I just stayed quiet, waiting for something to happen, but it just cut off. I then checked with 1471 and it showed 08452866824, which didn't even ring when I tried back - probably because it’s one of those premium rate lines. Seems like yet another scam, and they’re definitely getting more common even though I’m on the no cold calls list. Proper annoying!

I just got back from seeing my 84 year old mum and she had the exact same automated call! It told her to press 5 if she wanted to claim back bank fees. Luckily I was there to pick up and I hung up straight away. Mum’s number isn’t even listed anywhere. I was under the impression the government was gonna slap heavy fines on these scam calls to crack down on them?

So my granny, who’s 93, has been getting loads of calls from this number recently. The person on the other end claims she somehow paid too much at the bank and tells her to press 3 to "confirm" or something.
